Abstract

ABSTRACT:No Theories for the Liquidity of This Desire is a visual and poetic meditation on desire as an embodied practice of cartography. The short film responds to and reflects (on) Dionne Brand’s liquid theories of self-creation and way-finding as a Black being in diaspora. No Theories was shot in Anguilla during February 2021.RÉSUMÉ:No Theories for the Liquidity of This Desire est une méditation visuelle et poétique sur le désir en tant que pratique incarnée, corporelle de la cartographie. Le court métrage réagit et réfléchit aux théories fluides de Dionne Brand sur la création de soi et le processus d’orientation d’une personne noire de la diaspora.
