In this study, individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) who are being monitored in a psychiatric outpatient clinic are analyzed for their ten-year risk of cardiovascular disease. Methods: The study sample consisted of fifty-eight patients diagnosed with OCD. Sociodemographic characteristics and symptom severity of all participants were recorded. The 10-year cardiovascular disease risk of the participants was calculated with the QRISK*3 model. Results: The mean age of the patients was 37.21 (SD=10.48). QRISK*3 score of OCD patients was calculated as 3.59±6.38%. There were positive correlations between duration of illness and QRISK*3 and QAGE scores in patients with OCD (r=.389 and r=.571, respectively). Linear regression analysis showed the predictive effects of duration of illness (t=3.663, p<.001), AIP (t=2.338, p=.023) on QRISK*3 score in patients with OCD. Conclusion: In this study, the risk of cardiovascular illness in OCD patients was independently predicted by the atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) and disease duration. Additionally, the 10-year risk of cardiovascular disease was 3.6% in OCD patients.
