Boys and men get eating disorders too

Abstract

Hospital admissions of men with eating disorders are rising, but the data suggest that thousands of cases among men are mostly unknown to health services. One in five of those with anorexia nervosa die prematurely, so it is vital that eating disorders are recognised and treated. In this update of a previous article, the author provides guidance on diagnosis and management as well as sources of support.
