Abstract

he author is to he congratulated, and thanked, for writing this T comprehensive treatment of the scintillation of electromagnetic waves over a broad spectrum, from visible light to radio waves. As one who has written on radio propagation, I am aware of the large effort that has been put into these volumes over 12 years. This is a scholarly treatment that will challenge the most demanding scientist and engineer. The book will he of particular interest to astronomers, applied physicists, and engineers develaping instruments and systems, as well as atmospheric scientists. Everyone specializing in electromagnetic scattering should have these volumes on hisiher desk or in a nearby library. There are extensive references to publications in English and Russian.
