Technological forecasting and input-output analysis

Abstract

Until recently, there was very little overlap between technological forecasters and economists specializing in input-output analysis. I shall argue that each field supplies information and insight essential to progress in the other. Part I of this paper explains how technological forecasts and input output are interrelated. Part II considers some practical applications that bridge the two fields and the problems they entail.
