Abstract
The present study was undertaken to investigate the beneficial effects of green tea in cognitive
dysfunctions of mice. Memory impairment was produced by high fat diet (HFD). Morris water maze,
elevated plus maze and passive avoidance test were employed to assess learning and memory. HFD
significantly impair the learning and memory in mice. Furthermore HFD significantly increase serum nitrite
and cholesterol concentrations. Pretreatment of green tea significantly reversed HFD induced learning and
memory deficits along with attenuation of HFD-induced rise in serum nitrite and cholesterol concentrations.
