Abstract

Abstract The aim of this article is to examine the educational theories and practices of ancient Greece, to investigate a few of the explicit links that the modern Greek state has made to these and to discuss some of the more implicit parallels that can be discerned in the present Greek educational system. To some extent, it will be an investigation of the contemporary traces that remain from the ancient civilisation.
