Abstract
A user-programmable WCS (writable control store) has been added to the 16-bit LSI11 microcomputer. The user can now enhance performance by creating new machine instructions. Access to a computer's microprogram control can give the user additional tools to tailor a general-purpose machine to a particular application or problem.
