Abstract

В статье проанализирована историография полковых историй английской (с 1707 г. – британской) армии и выделены основные их особенности в зависимости от исторического периода. Приведены описания уникальных баз данных по дислокации британской армии, её участия в конфликтах и кампаниях, изменениях в штатном составе, а также изложены основные принципы составления и работы с ними. Созданы графики расширения и сокращения британской армии, изменения в количестве полков, батальонов, штатной численности, а также даны объяснения подобным изменениям, с указанием литературы для дальнейшего изучения. Также намечены основные направления развития и поддержки имеющихся баз данных, указаны сферы для дальнейшего изучения проблем военной истории и истории военной машины как таковой. The article analyses regimental histories of the English (British from 1707) army and highlights their main features depending on the historical period. It contains descriptions of unique databases concerning the British army: deployments, conflicts participation, changes of establishment, the general principles of compiling and working with them. Figures for expansion and reduction in number of British infantry and cavalry regiments have been created, accompanied with short explanations and literature for further reading. The article also outlines the main directions for development and support of the existing databases, Indicates the areas for further studies of military history and military efforts of the countries in focus.
