THE MEANING OF "CALENDAR" TERM IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ORIGINALS OF "INTERPRETATION OF THE CALENDAR"

Abstract

The article discusses the issue of comparative study of the interpretive part "What is a Calendar" included in the works of different authors concerning the "Interpretation of the Calendar". Our task is to do a comparative analysis of this passage in the writings by Anania Shirakac’i "Cosmology and Calendar", "Interpretation of the Calendar of Andreas", "Interpretation of the Calendar" by Samuel Anec’i and by Hakob Khrimetc’i, and to show why they considered important to define and explain the term "calendar". While comparing these explanations, we have identified and clarified almost all definitions and nuances associated with this term. A special attention was paid to the semantic explanations given in dictionaries.
