Abstract

The paper presents results related to optimal configurations of the stator and rotor slots of a double-cage induction motor. The finite element assisted design and the optimization of the induction motor, based on Altair HyperStudy – Flux co-simulations, are focused on optimization using different algorithms and the decrease of the computation time of the optimization process. Design of Experiments (DOE) investigations are performed to determine the influence and the order of importance of the design variables on the objective functions, which are the efficiency correspondent to the rated state of motor operation and the starting torque.
