Abstract
The article explores the interrelations and contradictions of energy-saving technologies and the economy, with an emphasis on the territory of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, raises the problems of electricity generation using renewable energy sources, assesses the dynamics of the balance of territorial production and consumption of electricity, conducts a point analysis of the commissioning of enterprises, with using renewable energy sources, the issues of investment sources, the possibilities and realities of their payback, comparison with entities using traditional, non-renewable energy sources are considered.
