Adherence to the Social Model Approach in Philadelphia Recovery Homes

Abstract

For many struggling with alcohol and drug addiction, the ability to get and stay clean is often jeopardized by untenable housing or unsupportive living environments. Recovery residences are designed to provide safe and supportive housing to help individuals initiate and sustain recovery. Despite promising research on Oxford HousesTM and Sober Living Houses in California, there are still significant gaps in the research on recovery residences and confusion in the treatment community over what constitutes a recovery residence.
