Abstract

A new device for zooplankton subsampling uses the spinning of aliquot collecting chambers while the sample is mixed by a water jet and drains through a narrow tube. Aliquot chambers collect a small portion of the sample each cycle of rotation. The device reduces splitting time and obtains a variety of subsample sizes in one operation.
