The role and importance of independent physical exercises and sports, which have a health-improving orientation, for all teaching staff and employees of the University is indicated. Proceeding from the peculiarities of professional activity of the teaching staff of Russian universities, including the preservation of good state of health and maintain high efficiency, the most appropriate are: a) participation in University sponsored sports events, taking into account the employment of teaching staff, their capabilities and level of health under the direct supervision of specially assigned specialists of physical culture; b) regular independent exercise and sports activities, including family Sunday sports and recreation activities (excursions to nature, skiing and skating, Cycling, etc.). The authors consider independent sports and health-improving classes of the University's teaching staff and its employees as an important component of their life-fulfillment system, which is conditioned by personal and professional tasks. Systematic physical exercises, participation in individual and group physical exercises, exercise systems and selected sports are not an additional load, but a relief for all involved, switching them from mental to physical work.
