Abstract

Long-term underground thermal energy storage (UTES) is an important strategy for sustainable energy development, and it is also a feasible way to regenerate renewable energy and residual heat resources in large scale. This paper aims to discuss controllable thermal diffusion in underground and to improve the energy storage efficiency. The temperature field and heat flux in complicated heat source configuration was calculated numerically with different heat load modes.
