Abstract
Numerical simulations make a fundamental contribution to the optimization of geotechnical compaction methods used to stabilize soils. In such simulations it is possible to describe the complex material behavior of sands with the hypoplastic constitutive model. Despite the enormous influence of the material parameters on the calculation results, the parameterization of sands for the hypoplastic model has not been uniformly regulated so far. In this paper, different parameterization approaches are tested on a sand and their simulation results are compared. Subsequently, a proposal for the standardization of the parameterization of sands for the hypoplastic constitutive model is derived.
