It was shown that PFS polymerization proceeds through a reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization mechanism, and that of HEMA polymerization is more complicated. The conditions of preparation of diblock copolymers (DBC) which do not contained the by-products of uncontrolled radical polymerization of PFS were found. Comparative study of contact angles versus water (θ2 ) and diiodomethane (θ2 I 2) of nylon fabric samples, treated with DBC containing 37 mol. % PFSunits, and poly-2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorostyrene (PPFS) was conducted.
