Abstract
Objective
To study the changes of female patients’ mental health before and after excimer laser surgery.

Results
The force, anxiety, terror and psychoticism factor scores of the patients preoperatively were higher than the norm (P <0.05), while the positive factor numbers were also more than the norm (P <0.05). The interpersonal sensitivity and paranoid factor scores postoperation were lower than the norm (P <0.05). Compared with the preoperative, after sur-gery the somatization, force, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, terror, paranoia and psychoticism scores were significantly decreased (P <0.05), and the positive factor numbers were also decreased significantly than preoperative (P <0.05).
Conclusions
There are obvious mental health problems preoperatively of female excimer laser surgery patients. The problems could be alleviated much after surgery.
