Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the mathematical problem-solving abilities of junior high school students in relation and function material. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research, the determination of the subject using the purposive sampling technique obtained three students who were used as subjects according to their problem-solving abilities, the high category (S4), medium (S6), and low (S9). Data collection was obtained from a problem-solving ability test. The results in this study indicate that the mathematical problem-solving abilities of junior high school students are in three categories: (1) The high category has been able to meet the problemsolving indicators, but there are still shortcomings in providing final conclusions; (2) The medium category is only able to fulfill some of the problem-solving indicators, where students can understand the problem, develop strategies, and check the results; (3) The low category is unable to meet all problem-solving indicators. This shows that the students' mathematical problem-solving ability shows that several problem-solving indicators that have been tested on students have not been fulfilled.
