Democracy: from your triumph to your decline

Abstract

Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the disintegration of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in 1990, democracy has triumphed over other political systems, but corruption, corporatism, plutocracy, party rule, and populism have led it to its decline; in this respect, in this text are proposed documented objections to the way how it has been operating in the reality. In order to develop this thesis, is necessary to abroach from the literature different authors who describe the flaws inside its operation and allow to analyze the shortcomings, crisis, unfulfilled promises and the continuing deterioration of democracy, which have a negative impact in its normal function and its results.
