Abstract

Within Asset Management, decision-making on asset is critical. One crucial decision is to justify whether the asset condition is good or bad based on a set of norms and knowledge rules. For practical reason, the utility usually adapts the norms or rules from manual books or the known international standards or surveys. However, not all norms were ready to use or suitable for the local operating conditions. This paper provides methodologies to develop norms for condition assessment of HV Apparatus with a case study of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) operating under tropical conditions. The methods include the statistical analysis on the field data, expert judgment, comparison with the sister component, and laboratory work.
