On Participation in Antenatal Classes Depending on the Academic Educational Status of the Mother

Abstract

The question of whether women attend antenatal classes depends on various factors and is important to ask, because attending antenatal classes shows a conscious awareness of pregnancy, a concern and a sense of responsibility as a mother and towards the not-yet-born child at an early stage. To evaluate the extent to which participation in antenatal classes depends on the academic level of education of the mother, women who gave birth between 1950 and 1990 were interviewed with a questionnaire. The results of the study show the correlation between the mother‘s education and attendance of antenatal classes.
