Abstract
Many passive circuit reduction methods require estimating time constant for an arbitrary RC circuit block. An iterative solver is proposed in this paper for the fast estimation of large-scale RC blocks appearing in power grid circuits and other passive RC networks in integrated circuits. Experiments show that when the number of nodes of RC blocks that need to be estimated is 1, 442, 401, the estimation speed of iterative solvers is 2.04 times faster than that of direct solvers under the same accuracy. Furthermore, if an order of magnitude reduces the estimation accuracy, the estimation speed of iterative solvers will be 3.07 times faster than that of direct solvers.
