Stocking and sale of misoprostol by patent and proprietary medicine vendors in Nigeria

Abstract

Our letter shed more light on the previous article published by your journal Akiode et al. The authors did not clearly state whether patent medicines vendors were allowed by law to stock and Sell misoprostol or not. This ambiguity has led other authors that cited the article to mention that the patent and proprietary medicine vendors (PPMVs) were allowed to stock and sale the drug. We, therefore, find it necessary to provide comprehensive information regarding the scope of operation and medicines that are allowed by law to be stocked and sold by PPMVs in Nigeria. This knowledge will be important and relevant to researchers, stakeholders, public, and the implementing partners.
