Abstract

Several research articles have been published in conventional doubly-fed induction generator for harvesting wind energy, but the research work on unconventional doublyfed induction generator carried out very less quantity. In this direction, this paper bridges this gap by comparing the three-phase doubly-fed induction generator (TPDFIG) to novel six-phase doubly-fed induction generator (SPDFIG) through modeling and simulation. The simulation results compare the performances of the stator side and rotor side outputs. Comparison between TPDFIG and SPDFIG are given the first time in the literature. The simulation results prove the accuracy of mathematical modeling.
