Abstract
To effectively prevent the generation of crack, it is necessary to monitor and control the temperature and stress of the mass concrete. Unlike the usual methods on structure damage identification, a new mass concrete structure damage identification system is demonstrated based on wireless sensor networks WSNs and mobile agent technology. With the identification system, parallel information on the temperature and stress distributed throughout the concrete can be collected and processed by way of wireless sensor nodes. The application of mobile agents in WSNs can improve the collaboration, coordination and information fusion between heterogeneous systems and effectively reduce the transmission of redundant data and node power consumption. It is convenient and reliable to install the system, in which the structure and design can be analysed in detail and field tests can also be accomplished. The experimental results show that this system can achieve real-time online damage identification of the temperature and stress of the mass concrete construction.
