Abstract

The neutron slowing down time to energies 1·46, 0·3, 0·178 and 0·0976 eV and also the thermalization time below ∼0·1 eV have been measured. The time dependence of slowing down neutrons at 0·3 eV was obtained. The measurements made it possible to compute the correction for neutron moderation in the energy range below 1·46 eV and to obtain the square of the fission neutron slowing down length to various energies close to the thermal region.
