Abstract:As the editor of the Living Landscape Observer, Barbara Barrett examines development of a national policy on landscape conservation from the preservation of fish and wildlife habitats to the role of the National Park Service. In marking this history, she builds the connection between the conservation of large landscapes and the development of landscape networks within the growing cultural landscape movement.
