Formacao humana. \n \nAbstract: although Rousseau has defended the Latim phrase Vitam impendere vero so fervently, his work is marked by some statements that suggest otherwise. However, well understood, such statements lead to the idea that, as an antidote, the art and science can be used against their evil, so that lying and disguising itself can become effective teaching tools, especially in the educational process of the formation of man and the citizen. \n \nKeywords: Rousseau. Resumo: embora Rousseau tenha defendido a frase Vitam impedero vero com tanto fervor, sua obra e marcada por algumas afirmacoes que sugerem o contrario. Porem, bem entendidas, tais afirmacoes conduzem a ideia de que, como antidoto, a arte e a ciencia podem ser utilizadas contra seu mau e, nesse sentido, mentir e disfarcar podem virar instrumentos pedagogicos eficientes, sobretudo no processo pedagogico de formacao do homem e do cidadao.
