Peculiarities of the Upper Ordovician carbonate facies of the Teletskoe Lakeside Zone, Gorny Altai

Abstract

The large spherical structures found in the Upper Ordovician carbonates of the Teletskoe Lakeside structural-facies zone of the Gorny Altai were formed by algae. Oncolites-rhodolithes are indicators of shallow-water environments formed in the conditions with active hydrodynamics.
