Abstract

Abstract:The author provides a personal history of his discovery of Bion's theoretical work from his early therapeutic work with a catatonic boy to a review of War Memories. This history includes attending Bion's lectures in New York City, a supervisory session with him, and a list of the authors' group therapy papers influenced by aspects of Bion's theory. The author then recollects a consultation with Bion that was presented at two different analytic meetings.
