The tapering is in the direction of wave propagation. Evaluations of cutoff wavelength and of values of field components along the central axis are carried out. Different configurations of tapered-ridges are investigated. Curves of cutoff wavelength and field components of the dominant TE mode are plotted as a function of position along the axis, with the tapering angle as a variable parameter. The field components are determined for a generated frequency of 2.45 GHz.
