Abstract

The Annales only accept original and previously unpublished work, which can be submitted in French or English as well as Italian, German, or Spanish. All manuscripts are assessed by the editorial board within six months of reception and are also sent to two external specialists for peer review. The board can decide to accept a manuscript as it stands or subject to revision. They may also ask for a more substantially modified version that will pass through the evaluation process a second time, or refuse the article directly.
