Abstract

Measurements based in the IEEE Std 1459–2010 can show the need of applying filters in a microgrid to attend the IEEE Std 1547–2003 requirements related to harmonic pollution in order to maintain the power quality limits. LCL-filters placed on the existing voltage source converters can improve the microgrid power quality, reducing the harmonic pollution in it. This paper applies a design procedure of LCL-filters and the control adjustments on voltage source converters to reduce the harmonic current injected to levels accepted by the IEEE Std 1547–2003.
