Abstract

An apparatus was constructed for measuring the spontaneous macro-stress in deposits growing on a moving substrate. It enabled the determination of macrostress both on flat and cylindrical substrates. Formulae for the calculation of stress starting from experimental substrate deformation measurements are derived.
