Abstract
In this paper a Z-Source Converter (ZSC) with step-up/step-down characteristics and minimal number of passive elements is studied. The converter employs two active switches with complement gate commands. In order to regulate the output voltage of the converter a robust and adaptive non-linear control approach is presented. In this case an adaptive sliding mode control (ASMC) method is applied for the converter output voltage regulation. The feedback control law is applied based on sliding condition realization. The proposed sliding mode control (SMC) method guarantees asymptotic stability as well as robustness against input voltage variation and load resistance uncertainty. In order to demonstrate the capability of the proposed controller, simulation results, obtained by PSIM software, are presented.
