Abstract
Due to the demanding requirements of the next generation technology, there is a need for heterogeneous wireless networks. One of the most crucial issues in heterogeneous network is vertical handover and many algorithms have been introduced in order to make the vertical handover performance more accurate. In this paper, three scenarios based on MADM algorithms (WSM, WPM and TOPSIS) and their corresponding modified versions with respect to QoS parameter (delay, bandwidth, cost, and jitter) are compared and analyzed in order to determine their performance. The results show that the modified WPM consistently selected the third network, which indicates that any variations in the parameters will not affect the algorithm performance.
