Abstract. The purpose of this application, under Articles 55.3 and 81.2.1 of the Code, is to resolve the homonymy of the family-group name Mecynostomatidae Kukalová, 1969 (Insecta, Paleodictyoptera) by suppression of its senior homonym Mecynostomatidae Lameere, 1917 (Insecta, Paleodictyoptera) for the purposes of both the Principle of Priority and the Principle of Homonymy.
