27—STRETCH AND RECOVERY PROPERTIES OF APPAREL FABRICS CONTAINING NYLON 6.6 FALSE-TWIST CRIMPED YARN

Abstract

An account is given of an investigation of the relations between the tensile properties of stretch fabrics, in which the stretch component was nylon 6.6 false-twist crimped yarn, and the resistance to bagging of trews in wear. It is shown that the fabric extension at a given load and the non-recoverable extension from a given load, measured under specified conditions, correctly predicted resistance to bagging in wear. The importance of garment style and fabric construction is demonstrated.
