Gayo Lues adalah salah satu kabupaten yang terletak di dataran tinggi Provinsi Aceh. Wilayah Kabupaten ini berada pada ketinggian 500 – 2.000 m dpl, dengan luas wilayah 5.719, 58 km². Hutan lindung yang terdapat di Kabupaten Gayo Lues salah satunya hutan lindung yang berbatasan langsung dengan Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser (TNGL) yang dikenal dengan nama Rainforest Lodge Kedah. Rainforest Lodge Kedah terletak di Desa Penosan Sepakat, Kecamatan Blangjeranggo, Kabupaten Gayo Lues. Tumbuhan paku (Pteridophyta) terrestrial merupakan kelompok tumbuhan paku yang hidup di permukaan tanah termasuk di lantai hutan. Tumbuhan paku terrestrial memiliki peran penting dalam pembentukkan humus, melindungi tanah dari erosi, menjaga kelembapan tanah dan memiliki nilai ekonomi yang cukup tinggi terutama pada keindahannya sebagai tanaman hias.Tujuan penelitian ini mendata jenis tumbuhan paku-pakuan berdasarkan ketinggian di kisaran 1.300 – 1.600 m dpl, menghitung indeks nilai penting INP, indeks keanekaragaman jenis dan untuk menghitung indeks similaritas tumbuhan paku-pakuan (Pteridophyta) terrestrial berdasarkan ketinggian di Kawasan Rainforest Lodge Kedah Kabupaten Gayo Lues Provinsi Aceh. Hasil dari penelitian ini Jenis tumbuhan paku-pakuan (Pteridophyta) terrestrial di Kawasan Rainforest Lodge Kedah terdapat sebanyak 28 jenis yang terdiri dari 16 famili, dengan jumlah individu secara keseluruhan sebanyak 2.377 individu. Indeks nilai penting paling tinggi adalah Dryopteris filix-mas (L.) Schott (13,54) dan yang paling rendah Angiopteris palmiformis (Cav.) C. Chr (0,16) dan Angiopteris evecta (G. Forst.) Hoffm (0,16). Nilai rata-rata Indeks Keanekaragaman (1,36) dan nilai Indeks Kesamaan jenis paling tinggi pada ketinggian 1.300 – 1.400 m dpl dengan 1.400 – 1.500 m dpl dengan jumlah kesamaan jenis 82%. Diversity of Terrestrial Ferns Plant (Pteridophyta) in the Rainforest Lodge Kedah Gayo Lues Regency Aceh ProvinceAbstract. Gayo Lues is one of the districts located in the highlands of Aceh Province. The Regency area is at an altitude of 500 – 2,000 m above sea level, with an area of 5,719.58 km². One of the protected forests in Gayo Lues Regency is a protected forest which is directly adjacent to the Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL), known as the Rainforest Lodge Kedah. Rainforest Lodge Kedah is located in Penosan Sepakat Village, Blangjeranggo District, Gayo Lues Regency. Terrestrial ferns (Pteridophyta) are a group of ferns that live on the soil surface, including on the forest floor. Terrestrial ferns have an important role in the formation of humus, protect the soil from erosion, maintain soil moisture and have high economic value, especially in terms of their beauty as ornamental plants. The purpose of this study was to record fern species based on altitude in the range of 1,300 – 1,600 m asl. , to calculate the IVI important value index, species diversity index and to calculate the similarity index of terrestrial ferns (Pteridophyta) based on altitude in the Rainforest Lodge Area of Kedah, Gayo Lues District, Aceh Province. The results of this study show that there are 28 types of terrestrial ferns (Pteridophyta) in the Rainforest Lodge area of Kedah, consisting of 16 families, with a total number of individuals of 2,377 individuals. The highest important value index is Dryopteris filix-mas (L.) Schott (13.54) and the lowest is Angiopteris palmiformis (Cav.) C. Chr (0.16) and Angiopteris evecta (G. Forst.) Hoffm (0 , 16).
