Abstract
Severe occlusal wear can result in occlusal disharmony, impaired function, pulpal trauma, and esthetic problems. Occlusal disharmony can be due to the collapse of posterior teeth which may lead to loss of normal occlusal plane and the reduction of vertical dimension. Subsequently, there is a loss of vertical facial height of the patient that can cause lack of confidence in patient due to inferior esthetics. This clinical report describes the use of the Hobo twin-stage procedure for the rehabilitation of a patient with severe tooth wear, resulting in reduced vertical dimension of occlusion.
