Abstract

It is shown experimentally that a simple relation exists between the normalized elastic modulus, E/Em, and the normalized electrical conductivity, γ/γm, for sintered metallic materials. A model established originally to describe the change in electrical conductivity of sintered materials with porosity is extended to include the elastic modulus. This model is based essentially on the concept of the number of contacts between powder particles.
