Intoxication aiguë à l’éthanol

Abstract

Ethanol is one of the most common toxic agent. Diagnostic of an acute intoxication relies upon patient’medical history and is confirmed by measurement of blood ethanol concentrations. The lack of specific treatment implies close monitoring of the patient until disappearance of clinical symptoms, usually attained in a few hours. This intoxication should be taken seriously due to the rare occurrence of potentially lethal complications.
