The exact mechanism of depression is not known till now, but many hypothesis were implicated in the pathogenesis of depression which includes monoamino, GABAergic, glucocorticoid, neurotrophic, inflammatory hypothesis. Abstract
Depression is the leading cause of disability with a prevalence of more than 20% worldwide. It is associated with change in mood, loss of pleasure, inability to concentrate, lack of energy, sleep disturbance, guilty and suicidal tendency.
