Recent experimental studies have also shown that the different molecular features of the abnormal form of the prion protein, which accumulates in the infected tissues, can provide important clues to the relationships between different spongiform encephalopathies. However, a better understanding of the molecular features associated with the specific pathogenic behavior of different strains is required. Abstract
