El gran duque de Osuna en el teatro: de Monroy a Bances Candamo

Abstract

. The Grand Duke of Osuna is the protagonist of two plays, Las moce-dades del duque de Osuna , by Monroy and Más vale el hombre que el nombre by Bances, which respectively stage his adventurous youth and later deeds in Flan-ders. Although written at two different dates, they were performed in the Corrales de Comedias in the same year and with the same purpose: the promotion of the new VI Duke of Osuna.
