Abstract

El costo a la educación inicial es un obstáculo para las familias desaventajadas. Los centros de la Red de Oferta Pública en Chile garantizan gratuidad para los niños de 0 a 3 años. Examinando la institucionalidad del financiamiento a centros subvencionados con una aproximación etnográfica, se identifican mecanismos causales en la implementación de esta política. La variabilidad de la asistencia y la lógica de control económico generan prácticas entre las administraciones, centros y familias que promueven un derecho a la educación y ciudadanía en la primera infancia de consumo.
