Abstract
The volume of disposable mask waste during the pandemic has increased significantly, so literacy is needed to manage mask waste properly. This community service aims to invite the community, especially Generation Z, to make efforts to overcome the waste of disposable masks. This campaign is a virtual community service for lecturers and students participating in the Integrative Community Service. Socialization through the TikTok media was carried out starting in July 2021 for one month to provide education on the impact of mask waste on health and the environment, as well as providing information on how to properly dispose of once-use so that the waste can be used into other forms that do not pollute the environment. Generation Z widely uses Tiktok in searching for information. This campaign resulted in 4 video products containing environmental, health, and innovation messages uploaded on several personal TikTok accounts, @beritaradio.com and @anshoe.who. The values in this campaign include educational tutorials on managing single-use mask waste properly, innovation of mask waste being recycled into several types of valuable objects by LIPI, used as eco-bricks, and used as air fresheners. The value of this campaign message invites Generation Z to be more concerned about the environment and health.
