(Was I not the most beautiful light?), atributed to the Dominican nun María Anna Águeda de San Ignacio. Despite the absence of the original manuscript, it’s possible to identify what elements of the text can be conventionally placed within the pastorela genre, and what others are peculiar, such the character of the Virgin Mary. Se aborda la temática y otros aspectos de la pastorela novohispana ¿No fui yo la luz más bella?, atribuida a la monja dominica María Anna Águeda de San Ignacio. A pesar de la ausencia del manuscrito original, es posible señalar cuáles de sus elementos se inscriben convencionalmente dentro de la tradición de la pastorela y cuáles son de un carácter singular, como la presencia de la figura de la Virgen María.
